Couldn't wait to dump out the rocks in my five fingers
Finish line. My legs have never been this tired.
This is coming down death row.
The Bairgutsman had a slight change of plans this year. Farmington canyon was closed because of the crazy weather so they decided to run up the trail and then right back down it. I thought it was a pretty crazy idea to tell the truth but I love the race and my brother and I signed up anyway. Well, I have three pages in my journal of details that I do not want to write again and no one wants to read anyways, so to keep it short...I won!!! I still can't believe it. It about killed me and I thought I had a women on my heels the whole way down but come to find out the next female came in 12 minutes behind me. Pretty cool. I received a mug trophie and a cool workout top and my medal says overall womens 1st place. The only bad thing was that Gabi had a tournament in Park City at the same time so I missed her game and beautiful goals and they missed my race. You can't have it all.

Spudman: 1 mile swim, 25 mile bike and 10k run.
I was unprepared for this race in many ways. I only rode my bike one time and never rode the actual by that I raced with. We drove straight there from our vacation in Oregon and I got sick on the way home and I wasn't able to eat too much afraid that I might lose it. Anyways, we stayed at Heather's parents house the night before and after 3 hours of sleep we headed to Burley. The race was fun but harder than I expected. I was passed by at least 400 people on the bike, but the cool thing was that I passed them all back up on the run. I finished in 2:34. Definitely need to try that one again. It was fun to have my WHOLE family there supporting me.

9.5 miles down Snow Basin
My awesome van!
The girls on the team
This is where we stayed for a few hours before our last leg. AMAZING!!! Yes that is a hippo above the TV.

Our team after crossing the finish line.
Wow! This was a crazy experience. It was much harder than I expected. I thought that it would be a no brainer doing a total of 21 miles in 30 hours. Well we were van 1 and we started at 5:15am in Logan. We had to be there at 4:00am. So Thursday I slept less than 2 hours and Friday night I slept less than 1. Then I was taking shots of caffeine to keep me going and 8 immodium to cancel out what the caffeine would do. Not good for the stomach. My first leg was 8 miles and it was a piece of cake. The second leg was 9.6 down snow basin and the last leg was 5. The last one I ran at 2:00am and I barely remember it. We stayed in the most amazing house by East Canyon on the second night. I have never seen anything like it. It was very refreshing to take a shower, eat and rest for an hour before taking off for the last leg. We crossed the finish line in Park City...192 miles from Logan in 30 1/2 hours. It amazed me how close I got to my van in that time. I was sad to see them go. In my van I had the girls BYU soccer coach and trainer, the athletic director and another guy that worked with the athletes and a former BYU volleyball player. I planted a small seed for Gabi. :) The whole experience was much funner and harder than I thought it would be. I would do it again.

What a great race!!! I had such wonderful support. All those that didn't make it were texting me throughout. My goal was a 3:20 so I was very close! I came in 7th place in my age group...3 minutes from making in onto the podium. 11 minutes from making $. Next Time!!! I did qualify for Boston though!!!

WARD 5K!!!...May 28th
I WON!!! I DID IT IN 19:50. That is a 6:40 mile.
This summer I am signed up for 10 races. I am loving it!!! One of the best parts to me is the wonderful support I have around me. There is nothing I love more than coming in from a difficult race and seeing my family at the finish line. I love the training and how I feel every day because of it. I have an amazing training partner who pushes me and I push her. Most of all I am super grateful for Esteban. He loves all the running I am doing and is very supportive of it...enough to drag 4 kids out of bed to see me at all the finish lines!
I am going to keep updating this post throughout the summer of all my races. It will mostly be pictures because I have full accounts in my own journal and don't feel like documenting twice. I will stick to captions.
I am really looking forward to this summer and want to thank all my WONDERFUL family and friends ahead of time for all the support. I love you all!!!!!!
