For our 12 year anniversary Esteban and I are leaving the kids for the first time!!! They stayed with Abuela and my parents and had a great time at the zoo, the gateway museum and my parents cabin (fishing, tubing, swimming, catching and eating crayfish and who knows what else...they had a great time!) Thank you to the fabulous grandparents!!!!
We were also blessed to have a beautiful home to stay in and a BMW to drive for the week. We definitely were not roughing it. Thanks Marty and Greg!
We had an absolute blast! It was so nice to spend time with each other and not have to be parents at the same time. We grew so much closer over the 5 days! The first day we played tennis at the courts by our house. It was so great because at sea level it is a completely different game and I likesd it much more and played better. After that we went to mission beach and ate at the same resturaunt we ate at 12 years ago. We layed out for a couple of hours and shopped for the kids. We got Mason a bottled shark! He is going to die! He loves sharks so much and that is all he talks about lately. We also got Diego a bunch af frogs which everyone knows he loves. After getting ready we went downtown and ate at Sammys (Esteban's favorite). It was super yummy. We ate out about 9 times in 5 days. I am pretty sure we didn't lose any weight on this trip. :)

You look as good as you did 12 years ago, if not better :)
Its wonderful that you got closer on this trip as well. Sometimes that is all you need, a few days alone to focus on each other.
